Government policy

Working closely with Government & the voluntary sector

We work closely with Government and organisations within the voluntary sector, such as NCVO, to encourage positive policies to support volunteering.

This includes engaging with the Prime Minister, Cabinet Office and DCMS to inform and raise awareness of the social and economic power of volunteering.

In addition we have an ongoing partnership with the DWP that supports Job Centres in encouraging their clients to become volunteers, thereby increasing their skills, experience and employability. All of these connections help us to show Government what it can do to support us, our member organisations and individual volunteers in our work to improve Britain’s communities.
